Job Overview

NTT DATA is looking for an AI Prompt Engineer to join our team in New York, New York. The role focuses on building and optimizing prompt systems for a strategic banking client, leveraging state‑of‑the‑art AI technologies to drive business intelligence and decision making. Responsibilities

Lead end‑to‑end Agentic AI development, implementation, and model performance evaluation and testing. Design, test, and refine prompts for various AI applications such as text generation, translation, chatbots, content creation, and summarization. Build and manage context engineering systems that provide the AI with the right data and tools at the right time, including structuring user history, retrieved documents, and external knowledge bases. Develop and implement testing frameworks to evaluate prompt effectiveness, identify edge cases, and ensure consistent AI system performance. Collaborate with subject matter experts to tailor AI interactions for specific domains, integrating domain‑specific terminology and workflows. Analyze AI system outputs and user feedback to identify patterns for improvement, implementing data‑driven refinements to prompts and context systems. Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of prompt design patterns, strategies, and best practices, and develop prompt libraries or repositories for reuse. Work closely with cross‑functional teams—including product managers, developers, data scientists, UX designers, and subject matter experts—to align prompt strategies with project goals and integrate AI capabilities into products and workflows. Design prompts that minimize biases, respect data privacy, and promote transparency, adhering to ethical AI standards and regulations. Keep up‑to‑date with the latest advancements in AI, machine learning, generative AI, and prompt engineering techniques. Required Skills

5+ years of experience in AI or prompt engineering. Bachelor’s degree in computer science, linguistics, computational linguistics, AI, machine learning, or data science, or equivalent experience. Preferred Skills

Deep understanding of LLM capabilities, limitations, and optimal interaction patterns. Advanced proficiency in crafting, testing, and refining prompts to produce consistent, accurate, and appropriate AI outputs. Technical knowledge sufficient to collaborate effectively with AI engineers and operations specialists on prompt implementation, optimization, and troubleshooting. Proficiency in Python. Strong analytical capabilities to evaluate prompt performance data and implement data‑driven improvements. Creative problem‑solving skills. Contract Details
