About the role The Practice Lead – Enterprise and Workplace Technology – Field Engineering is a critical leadership role responsible for overseeing the planning, coordination, and execution of enterprise infrastructure and workplace technology projects. Reporting to the Director, this role acts as a delivery and quality owner across multiple engagements—ensuring best-in-class execution in structured cabling, enterprise networking, wireless, and workplace IT deployments.
The Practice Lead serves as a bridge between strategic leadership and tactical execution, driving operational excellence, mentoring engineering teams, and supporting pre‑sales efforts. This role demands a hands‑on leader with deep technical knowledge, strong project oversight skills, and the ability to align field engineering activities with client needs and enterprise standards.

Partner with business leaders to deliver services that support company objectives and that are consistent with Winning Together values.
Oversee the day‑to‑day execution of enterprise infrastructure and workplace deployments.
Ensure project scope, timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met consistently across assigned initiatives.
Act as the primary escalation point for technical or operational issues at the project level.
Lead technical planning and field execution for:
Structured cabling (copper and fiber)
High‑density wireless (Cisco, Meraki, Aruba)
Workplace endpoint hardware (desktops, laptops, peripherals)
IDF/MDF design and remote site buildouts
Ensure installation best practices, compliance, and documentation standards are followed.
Support modernization of legacy infrastructure and adoption of hybrid workplace solutions.
Provide coaching, technical guidance, and daily oversight for field engineers and technicians.
Support training, mentoring, and development aligned to emerging technologies and project demands.
Conduct site readiness assessments and ensure crews are equipped to deliver against client expectations.
Enforce quality standards, field documentation protocols, and safety compliance across active projects.
Participate in audits, inspections, and post‑project reviews to support continuous improvement.
Monitor field performance metrics and help drive corrective actions when necessary.
Collaborate with Sales, PMO, and Solutions Architects to ensure readiness for new deployments.
Participate in client site walks, kickoff meetings, and technical discovery sessions.
Support pre‑sales scoping by reviewing Statements of Work (SOWs), resource plans, and project estimates.
Work with OEMs and third‑party vendors to ensure delivery standards and technical compatibility.
Help onboard and manage subcontractors, ensuring alignment with field expectations and safety requirements.

What you have
Associate or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
7+ years of experience in enterprise infrastructure or workplace technology delivery
3+ years in a field engineering leadership or supervisory role
Legally eligible to work in the United States
Strong understanding of structured cabling, wireless networking, and workplace IT infrastructure
Proven ability to manage field operations, quality assurance, and project delivery across multiple engagements
Experience leading field teams across distributed sites or national programs
Certifications such as BICSI Technician, RCDD, CWNA, or Cisco/Meraki Wireless
Familiarity with construction site safety standards and enterprise infrastructure rollout procedures
Excellent communication, problem‑solving, and stakeholder management skills
