Actuarial Analyst – Actuarial Development & Team Culture We are hiring Actuarial Analysts – these opportunities are designed for individuals committed to the actuarial career path, with a bachelor’s degree, one passed SOA exam, and demonstrated progress toward ASA designation.

Teams & Remote Schedule

Medicaid Projections Team – Assist in developing Medicaid financial forecasts. Provide technical support for projecting medical claims across many Medicaid markets. Ideal candidate has significant Excel experience and some coding exposure (SQL, SAS, Python, and/or R). Central Time (CST) remote preferred.

Marketplace ACA Pricing Team – Support pricing and rate filings for Centene’s Marketplace ACA line of business. Primary responsibilities include developing and reviewing pricing models and assumptions, query, validate, and analyze data to inform financial projections. Open to applicants based in California who can work a Pacific Time (PST) remote schedule.

Additional teams may be added as new opportunities arise.

Position Purpose Assist in financial analysis, pricing and risk assessment to estimate outcomes. Additional responsibilities may vary per actuarial team.

Responsibilities

Develop and analyze complex financial and statistical reports related to quality, cost and effectiveness of healthcare services.

Prepare budget and forecast and analyze financial results related to expectations.

Assist in financial analysis, pricing and risk assessment to estimate outcomes.

Apply knowledge of mathematics, probability, statistics, principles of finance and business to calculate financial outcomes.

Assist with developing probability tables based on analysis of statistical data and other pertinent information.

Analyze and evaluate required premium rates.

Assess cash reserves and liabilities to enable payment of future benefits.

Assist with determining the equitable basis for distributing money for insurance benefits.

Participate in merger and acquisition analysis.

Additional responsibilities may vary per actuarial team.

Preferred Skills Experience with Excel (pivot tables, formulas, indexing, data analysis) and VBA. Experience with SQL, SAS, Python, or R programming.

Education / Experience Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. 0-3 years of actuarial experience.

License / Certification Passed One Actuarial Exam – REQUIRED.

Location & Schedule Remote – applicants can work from anywhere in the Continental United States. Remote roles with team-specific scheduling preferences: • Medicaid Projections Team – Central Time (CST) remote schedule preferred. • Marketplace ACA Pricing Team – Preferably seeking candidates based in California who can work a Pacific Time (PST) remote schedule. • Additional teams may be added as new opportunities arise.

Pay Range $55,100.00 – $99,000.00 per year.
