Base pay range $68,640.00/yr - $73,000.00/yr

Development Coordinator CVNL is seeking a Development Coordinator who is enthusiastic about professional growth, excited by systems work, and ready to evolve with our organization. Working closely with the CEO and Program Directors, the coordinator will manage fundraising and development efforts, including grants, corporate sponsorships, and annual giving campaigns.

Responsibilities

Grant writing: 40%

Individual donors: 15%

Sponsorship: 30%

Special projects/assignments: 15%

Develop and implement a comprehensive development plan aligned with the organization’s strategic objectives, budget, and funding sources.

Coordinate grant requests, manage timelines, and facilitate communication with program leadership; gather submission materials from Programs and Finance.

Build and steward relationships with donors, sponsors, and partners.

Support the CEO in creating and managing the annual budget, tracking revenue against goals.

Partner with the Events Team on corporate sponsorship recruitment and retention for all CVNL events.

Manage the organization’s grant portfolio, including prospect research, proposal writing, and timely reporting; draft high‑quality LOIs and acknowledgement letters.

Develop and implement an individual donor program; manage donor database and communications such as thank‑you letters and phone call follow‑ups.

Develop and implement a planned giving program.

Analyze fundraising data to generate insights and drive strategy improvements.

Maintain a revenue pipeline, track progress year over year, and support community event representation.

Contribute as a subject‑matter expert for CVNL’s business products, programs, and services.

Support and optimize CRM systems (HubSpot) to engage all CVNL relationships.

Collaborate with the team to adapt systems as the organization grows, ensuring smooth transitions and scalability.

Requirements

2+ years of prospect research, proposal development, and managing/grant portfolio for government, foundation, and corporate grants.

Proven fundraising success with event and program sponsorships (2+ years).

Proven fundraising success with individual giving campaigns (2+ years).

Experience or willingness to learn new platforms—HubSpot experience is a bonus.

Proficiency in project management and office software (e.g., Basecamp, Microsoft Office).

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, able to build and nurture donor, board, and staff relationships.

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Nonprofit Management, Public Administration, Marketing & Communications, or equivalent experience.

Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.

Strong planning and time‑management skills.

Organized and exhibits “follow through” on tasks and goals.

Experience working with diverse constituents and stakeholders.

Interest in nonprofit trends, fundraising tools, and technology.

Commitment to DEIB principles.

Curiosity about SOP creation, workflow documentation, and AI tools.

Experience with project management tools (Basecamp, Asana, Trello, Microsoft Planner) a plus.

Analytical and pattern‑recognition skills.

Spanish proficiency a plus.

Familiarity with North Bay communities a plus.

Physical & Travel Requirements

Onsite position in San Rafael office with minimal travel to Santa Rosa; standard mileage reimbursements apply.

Ability to work occasional nights and weekends to support events/special projects.

Must have visual acuity; operate computer and office equipment; move around the office; lift items up to 25 lbs.

Compensation The budgeted starting salary for this position is $68,640–$73,000, based on internal and external market analysis, experience, and qualifications.
