What You’ll Do
Build and maintain strong relationships with freight forwarders, carriers, customs brokers, and third-party logistics providers.
Negotiate contracts and oversee performance to ensure adherence to service level agreements (SLAs) and cost-effectiveness.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner with internal teams, including supply chain, engineering, warehousing, and sales, to align logistics with business objectives.
Ensure seamless coordination of freight activities to meet operational and customer requirements.
Process Optimization & Cost Management
Analyze freight costs, transportation routes, and shipping methods to identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency.
Implement automation and best practices to optimize global logistics operations.
Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of import/export documentation, including customs declarations, bills of lading, and shipping manifests.
Stakeholder Communication & Issue Resolution
Serve as the primary escalation point for logistics-related issues, ensuring timely resolution of shipment delays, compliance challenges, and service disruptions.
Communicate proactively with internal and external stakeholders, providing updates, risk assessments, and solutions to improve logistics performance.
What We’re Looking For
Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or a related field. Advanced degree or professional certifications (e.g., Certified International Supply Chain Professional) preferred.
Logistics Management: A thorough understanding of logistics principles, including transportation modes, routing, and optimization techniques, is essential for managing international freight operations efficiently.
Global Trade Compliance: Familiarity with international trade regulations, customs procedures, import/export documentation, and trade agreements is crucial to ensure compliance and minimize the risk of penalties or disruptions.
Analytical Skills: The ability to analyze complex data, identify trends, and derive actionable insights is essential for optimizing freight routes, identifying cost-saving opportunities, and making data-driven decisions.
Proven experience (4+ years) in international freight management, logistics operations, or related fields, with a strong understanding of global trade regulations, customs procedures, and logistics best practices.
Very strong Excel Skills required.
Experience working in an ERP (NetSuite/Coupa).
Compensation $125,000 - $156,000 USD
