Database Support Engineer - US West
TigerData, formerly Timescale, is hiring a
Database Support Engineer
for our global, remote‑first team. The role focuses on providing deep technical support to customers, managing support cases, and driving product and process improvements.
What You Will Do
Work across a wide range of topics, from basic administration of TimescaleDB to design, optimization, and implementation consulting.
Manage support cases from beginning to end, ensuring rapid and effective resolution.
Develop and maintain close relationships with customers to drive success and gather feedback.
Be curious, always learning, and continuously improving products, processes, and culture.
What You Need
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, or equivalent experience.
Relational database experience at scale, including administration, data modeling, and query optimization.
Experience with PostgreSQL (strong plus) and deep familiarity with TimescaleDB is essential.
Experience as a technical support professional working with external customers.
Strong aptitude to learn new software products quickly.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to express empathy when troubleshooting complex technical concepts.
Other Things That Will Help
Familiarity with broad cloud computing concepts and experience with AWS, GCP, and Azure.
Experience with relational databases, NoSQL databases, and data modeling tools.
Strong sense of curiosity and willingness to explore unknown areas.
