About the Department
This team ensures the lifecycle of a faculty, physician or provider hire from position ideation to first ninety days are optimized for both the newly hired faculty and the respective department.
This office ensures the recruitment process is efficient, inclusive, and aligned with the guidelines outlined by the University’s Provosts office while ensuring candidates and new hires have a high-touch experience throughout the hiring and onboarding process.
Job Summary The Director of Physician and Provider Recruitment & Onboarding will be a strategic and transformational leader and will not only manage the full-cycle recruitment of physicians and providers but will also serve as a trusted partner to faculty and administrative leadership. This leader will enhance the physician and provider experience throughout the hiring and onboarding cycles, and ensure we attract top-tier talent and will manage the recruiting and onboarding specialists supporting these services.
Responsibilities
Champion a seamless, professional, and personalized candidate journey from initial contact through onboarding. This includes collaborating with Academic Affairs, Credentialing, and administrative and faculty leaders to streamline processes and ensure a positive, welcoming experience.
Implement processes improvements to increase efficiency and improve end user experience with the hiring and onboarding of faculty, physicians and providers.
Partners with key stakeholders on the development and operationalization of standard processes and policies for recruitment and onboarding services.
Develop, monitor, and take an active role in the improvement of key performance metrics to assess the overall performance of services.
Develop clear and transparent recruitment pathways for all faculty and physicians including supporting the search processes led by internal or external recruiting resources.
Oversee resourcing key faculty leadership searches, including support for the creation of search committees, development of recruitment and sourcing plan, coordination of visits and interview schedules and assist departments in completion of recruitment material.
Work closely with chairs, executive administrators, and academic affairs administrators throughout the BSD in anticipating issues and preemptively solving problems that may arise with all facets of the faculty and physician lifecycle.
Develop and drive initiatives to standardize functions and processes while ensuring white-glove service. Including designing workflows to support the onboarding functions and ensure administrative, clinical and research environments are addressed prior to start date of a new hire.Oversee onboarding services which ensures coordination of both clinical and academic needs for newly hired faculty and physicians including but not limited to setting up lab environment, hiring of key personnel, setting up clinic and/or operating room requirements, schedules and templates.
Facilitate development of the recruitment strategy for planned hire, support for candidate sourcing when requested and monitor and report hiring metrics. Provide visibility for timing of all recruits in the pipeline to help areas plan for volumes and avoid bottle necks.
Develops strategic vision that ensures the optimization of the University’s talent delivery and investment processes, with a focus on the areas of workforce planning, strategic sourcing, talent pool assessment, and successful selection.
Advises hiring units on University policies, market practices, and key reporting metrics. Provides expertise with the aim of attracting and engaging a high-performing, diverse workforce.
Performs other related work as needed.
Minimum Qualifications Education:
Minimum requirements include a college or university degree in related field.
Work Experience:
Minimum requirements include knowledge and skills developed through 7+ years of work experience in a related job discipline.
Preferred Qualifications Education:
Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, business administration, or related field.
Experience:
Minimum of 5 years of progressive leadership experience in leading physician/provider recruitment or academic affairs services within a large healthcare or academic healthcare system.
Strong knowledge of full-cycle recruitment processes, including sourcing, interviewing, contracting, and onboarding, within a complex healthcare environment.
Solid understanding of employment law, credentialing, and the unique dynamics of the provider workforce.
Experience leading a customer-first team consistently providing exceptional service in every interaction and process touchpoints.
Preferred Competencies
Strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships at all levels of the organization.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to manage complex projects, prioritize tasks, and execute key performance indicators.
