Job Responsibilities

Initiate proposals to advance state-of-the-art wireless technology, including generating patents.

Actively engage with standard bodies and OSS community to make technical contributions.

Identify research directions and new research areas to realize Sony vision.

Collaborate with our global teams around the world to reach an optimal outcome.

Qualifications

Ph.D. degree with 4 years of experience, or Master’s degree with 7 years of experience, in electrical/communication engineering or in Computer Science.

Excellent wireless communication background including all system or link level aspects.

Experience in wireless LAN systems, cellular systems, sensor network technologies, distributed networking technologies, or wireless PAN systems with excellent research record is required.

A good knowledge of wireless LAN protocol is required. Experience on wireless LAN (IEEE802.11) MAC/PHY layers protocol design and/or analysis is preferred.

Experience in WLAN standard (802.11ac/ax/be/bn, etc.) development or 3GPP is preferred.

Experience in link level or system level simulation (e.g, ns-3) is preferred. Experience in cross-layer system design is preferred.

Essential programming language knowledge, such as Matlab, C/C++, and Python, is required.

Excellent oral and written communications skills. Ability to propose new features, drive consensus, and capture the results in writing in the form of designs, models, and requirements.

Must be able to travel domestically and internationally if required.

Flexibility and adaptability to work and collaborate with researchers in global locations, internally and externally.
