Warehouse Manager II
to join our team in
Kennesaw, GA . This role is responsible for overseeing all warehouse operations, including receiving, put-away, cycle counting, picking, and shipping of products and materials. The position ensures strict adherence to corporate safety standards, HAZMAT protocols, and security procedures. Additionally, it involves making informed decisions related to inventory management and ensuring full compliance with Yamaha and JSOX (Sarbanes-Oxley) regulatory guidelines.
What you'll be doing:
Provides strategic leadership and direct supervision to warehouse staff, ensuring operational excellence across all functions. Collaborates closely with shipping, receiving, inventory, and purchasing departments, as well as external partners, to maintain seamless workflow and communication. Fosters positive employee experience through effective communication, coaching, training, and ongoing staff development initiatives.
Oversee warehouse operations. Establish, manage, track, and report against metrics and KPIs targets for the warehouse.
(KPIs include (but not limited to): Pieces shipped and received per hours worked, TRIR, Picking times, Dock to stock processing, and Inventory accuracy.)
Manages, reviews, and approves inventory adjustments. Maintains accurate inventory records using a computerized inventory system. Reports include Cycle Count accuracy by bin, and Inventory adjustments. With explanations and action plans to Sr Manager Warehouse Operations.
Monitor warehouse expenditures and ensure they are within budget. Review procedures and expenditures for potential improvements and savings and submit suggestions for advisement.
Provides overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of warehouse staff. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Yamaha's policies and applicable laws. Plans, assigns, and directs work for warehouse staff. Conducts periodic employee evaluations. Addresses employee complaints and resolves problems. Maintains the proper level of temporary staff.
Maintain a high level of awareness of the Kaizen and 5S programs and MBO participation. Maintains and updates operational manuals. Ensures warehouse is compliant with all Federal, State, and JSOX rules for warehouse operations.
Instruct and train the warehouse staff on safety and HAZMAT procedures. Ensure adherence to all safety and HAZMAT procedures and applicable policies. Maintain employee records regarding training.
What you need to be successful:
AS/BS/BA degree in Supply Chain Management or related field of study preferred.
Minimum 7 years' experience in warehouse operations / distribution.
Minimum of 5 years in a supervisory role.
Experience in managing cross-functional teams and working with internal departments such as shipping, receiving, inventory, and purchasing.
Experience in Kaizen / 5S methodology strongly preferred.
In-depth understanding of OSHA regulations and corporate safety standards.
Knowledge of Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) and JSOX compliance requirements related to inventory and operational controls.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (i.e., Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook).
Proficient with inventory management systems (e.g., SAP EWM, Oracle, JD Edwards, etc.)
SAP EWM Experience strongly preferred (9.5 or S4)
Position is onsite.
