About the Role CHA Consulting, Inc. is seeking a
Commissioning Engineer
to join our
Power & Manufacturing – Generation & Energy Management Team
at our offices in
Boston, MA; Norwell, MA; Burlington, MA; or Hartford, CT . The role focuses on commissioning HVAC, lighting, power, and building automation systems for energy conservation projects, helping clients transition to cleaner energy sources.
Responsibilities
Plan, schedule, conduct, and coordinate detailed phases of projects independently with other engineering disciplines and project management staff.
Apply advanced judgment and analysis techniques for design development, implementation, and technical analysis of various systems.
Mentor junior staff and provide technical review of their work as needed.
Recommend alterations to development and design to improve product quality and procedures.
Continuously monitor progress and performance of engineering design development against the project work plan.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (required).
Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
Minimum 4 years of discipline‑specific engineering experience.
Strong knowledge and proven ability to practically apply engineering best practices.
Experience with HVAC systems, water‑side and air‑side systems, testing, and Building Automation Systems (BAS) (required).
Knowledge of life safety, plumbing, LEED, envelope commissioning, lighting, and power systems (a plus).
Leadership skills and ability to work collaboratively.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Proficiency with MS Office.
Active role in a professional engineering society/organization preferred.
Certified Building Commissioning Professional (a plus).
Salary $100,000 - $120,000 per year. Salary is based on qualifications, experience, education, licenses, and fair market evaluation.
