Job Description Summary We are seeking a dynamic and forward‑thinking accounting leader to modernize our accounting operations through innovation, automation, and strong cross‑functional leadership.

Essential Responsibilities

Partner with PayPal business leaders and the wider finance organization on accounting and reporting matters.

Drive accounting support within finance transformation work programs and process enhancements.

Provide accounting expertise and leadership to finance and business organizations.

Consult with business partners regularly to ensure awareness of significant transactions and potential accounting impact.

Additional Responsibilities and Preferred Qualifications

Lead transformation initiatives as a strategic partner across Finance, FP&A, Tax, Treasury, Finance Technology, and Finance Transformation teams to drive ERP implementation and end‑to‑end process redesign.

Ensure compliance and accounting integrity: align all system and process changes with PayPal’s accounting policies, US GAAP, and applicable regulatory requirements.

Modernize accounting processes by championing automation, AI, and other innovative technologies to streamline workflows and increase efficiency.

Own process governance and documentation strategy for the Accounting Operations team.

Act as a change agent to guide teams through transitions and communicate change.

Support close and governance activities, participate in month‑end close activities and corporate governance processes.

Expected Qualifications

8+ years relevant experience and a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent combination of education and experience).

Preferred Qualifications

12+ years in accounting operations, transformation initiatives, or financial systems implementation.

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

CPA license.

Advanced hands‑on experience with SAP ERP as an accounting business user.

Demonstrated ability to lead complex, cross‑functional projects with autonomy and accountability.

Superb communication and influencing skills.

Experience in public accounting and multinational, publicly traded companies.

In‑depth knowledge of key accounting processes such as fixed assets, procure‑to‑pay, order‑to‑cash, and month‑end close.

Familiarity with reconciliation and close management tools such as BlackLine.

Pay Information The U.S. national annual pay range for this role is $123,500 to $212,850. Compensation may include bonus, equity, and benefits. For more details, visit PayPal Benefits.
