Senior Principal Lead Engineer, Material Flow & Inventory Control
What We Are Looking For:
This role oversees inbound material, inventory control, accuracy, and production material flow to support the manufacturing of refrigerated display cases. The right candidate will drive processes across the system, analyze data, and lead a team of 3–5 direct reports to optimize inventory storage, availability, and material presentation. Close collaboration with quality, purchasing, and production scheduling teams is essential to ensure component availability.
What You Will Be Responsible For:
Conduct complex analysis and investigations of material flow, automated systems, conveyors, RFID, and new manufacturing operations.
Create visual representations of material flow and design optimum PFEP to optimize flow through the three facilities.
Design and control work processes to facilitate organizational plans related to inventory control and material flow.
Analyze current performance metrics and develop leading metrics to improve performance using Six‑Sigma methodology and lean principles.
Design and implement a world‑class inventory management system that integrates with lean manufacturing processes.
Use A3 and Six‑Sigma methodology to investigate WIP accuracy gaps and develop countermeasures.
Lead, train, and maintain a strong inventory management team; maintain work instructions and training documentation.
Develop a process to align material flow to final assembly with the pacemaker (perform VSM).
Interface with plant departments to maintain inventory accuracy and optimize material flow; work with planners on Kanban systems, consignment programs, and cycle counts to remove constraints.
Track inventory trends and report root‑cause analysis and problem‑solving strategies to management; ensure systems maximize material flow and minimize expenses.
Develop effective KPIs to measure and improve team performance.
Perform miscellaneous related duties and special projects as assigned.
Basic Qualifications:
Master’s degree in supply chain management or another business‑related field.
10–15 years of progressive experience in OPEX projects, lean manufacturing, and material flow.
Minimum 10 years of experience leading a team.
Industrial engineering background with proven experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Strong knowledge of inventory management in a lean manufacturing environment.
Experience in different supply logistics environments and solutions.
Demonstrated leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to coach and maintain effective relationships with staff.
Investigative nature with advanced math and technical skills.
Six‑Sigma Black Belt certification or proven experience.
