Recruiter & Junior Partner @ Proper Search Brand Manager (OWYN)
What We Are Looking For The Brand Manager will play a vital role in the continued growth of the OWYN brand by driving the core base business and other emerging categories. This individual will collaborate with some of the most talented individuals in the industry to develop disruptive innovation from concept to launch and help lead the thinking on how to drive breakthrough awareness and household penetration growth utilizing business acumen, agility, and determination to influence key stakeholders and drive category‑leading business growth.
Key Responsibilities
Own product lines within OWYN portfolio, daily management of the business, championing growth opportunities, and P&L profitability oversight
Lead development of new products from conception to launch, driving a cross‑functional team on formulation, product feasibility validation, packaging development, and sales execution; present and gain alignment from Senior Leadership through the Stage Gate process
Manage development of 360 marketing campaigns in partnership with internal teams (Creative, Digital Acceleration, Influencer Marketing) as well as external agency partners
Drive brand strategy by leveraging consumption and panel data, financial analyses, and consumer/category/competitive research to understand key business opportunities and risks
Develop and manage marketing budget, monitor ROI on all marketing spend; utilize and leverage data to make informed decisions regarding marketing investments and priorities
Coach and mentor junior team members to develop brand marketing capabilities and drive the culture
Conduct special projects, analyses, trackers and assignments, as required
Support key customer marketing initiatives, including sales decks, shipper programs, and retail‑facing collateral
Knowledge / Abilities
Excellent interpersonal communication and leadership skills to interact with Executives and team leads at all levels
Ability to manage projects simultaneously and adjust to changing priorities to successfully deliver on strategic priorities
Strong analytical background: ability to leverage multiple data sources to craft concise and compelling narratives;
must love data and storytelling
Deep understanding of how to interpret and build models from syndicated data such as IRI and/or Nielsen (IRI preferred)
Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, entrepreneurial environment that requires a solution‑oriented mindset and juggling multiple projects
Intellectual curiosity and learning agility; aspire to learn and grow in the organization and demonstrate strategic thinking
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum 6 years progressive Marketing experience; Minimum 2 to 3 years Brand Management / Product Innovation experience in a consumer‑packaged goods company (P&L ownership, forecasting, business planning, and execution)
Experience leading cross‑functional teams (internal and agency counterparts) to set and achieve goals – Consumer Insights, Sales and Trade, Digital Marketing, R&D, Supply Chain, and Finance
Experience driving innovation from concept through launch, including leading project timelines & cross‑functional teams
Experience managing all aspects of P&L to achieve annual plan targets
Proven track record of building intelligent, data‑driven, profit generating strategies
Proven track record of configuring, concepting, and altering consumer product portfolios
Proficient in Microsoft Office: Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams
Travel is required (25%, up to 40%, as needed)
Work is performed in a fast‑paced office environment and may be stressful at times. Work may require sitting for long periods of time; requires manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, calculator, telephone, copier and fax machine and scanner.
