Role Summary The Plant Controller serves as a finance professional who manages plant-level financial reporting, cost accounting, budgeting, and internal controls for two manufacturing sites. The role requires quarterly travel to the Redding, CA site and is based in Jacksonville, FL. The Plant Controller reports to the Vice President of Finance and works within the Finance Department.

Responsibilities

Prepare accurate plant‑level financial reports; analyze results, investigate variances, and provide insights to support decision‑making.

Manage all cost accounting functions, including setting standard costs, conducting variance analysis, and maintaining accurate inventory valuation. Ensure proper tracking of materials, labor, and overhead at the job level.

Lead annual budgets and rolling forecasts, support capital‑expenditure planning and return‑on‑investment analysis.

Maintain internal controls and ensure compliance with company policies and audit requirements.

Utilize Business Central (ERP) to manage financials, inventory, and cost data. Ensure data accuracy and support process improvements.

Qualifications Professional, proactive, and positive. Passion for exceptional customer service and support is a must. Sensitivity to unpredictable demands and uncertainties associated with customer service is required to deliver superior results and exceed customer expectations.

Minimum 5+ years of accounting/finance experience, including 3+ years in a plant controller role.

Ability to report daily to an office in Jacksonville, FL.

Ability to travel quarterly to our facility in Redding, CA.

Strong background in cost accounting, standard costing, and variance analysis in a manufacturing environment.

Proficient in Business Central or comparable ERP systems.

Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, financial modeling); Power BI experience preferred.

Strong communication, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; CPA strongly preferred.
