Technical Operations Engineer (contract)
Located in Montvale, NJ, this contract role at KPMG US focuses on application support and technical operations. Responsibilities
Provide technical support and troubleshooting for application issues, working closely with software engineers and program managers Investigate and resolve incidents related to application performance, integration, and data discrepancies while analyzing logs, monitoring system health, and identifying potential issues before they impact users Collaborate with developers to understand application usage, review technical designs, and recommend improvements and support incident management, root cause analysis (RCA), and post‑mortem reviews for critical application failures Work with infrastructure teams to optimize system configurations, deployments, and performance tuning Ensure adherence to security policies, compliance requirements, and best practices in application support Act with integrity, professionalism, and personal responsibility to uphold the firm’s respectful and courteous work environment Qualifications
Minimum five years of recent experience in application support, troubleshooting, or technical operations for large‑scale enterprise applications Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university Proficiency in C#, .NET, JavaScript frameworks, SQL Server, and scripting languages such as PowerShell and Python Hands‑on experience with log analysis, debugging tools, and monitoring solutions such as AppInsights, Splunk, Grafana, and Kibana; Selenium, JMeter, or other testing tools for diagnosing performance issues Experience with Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment/Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines and deployment tools like Azure DevOps, TeamCity, Octopus, or GitHub Actions Strong understanding of cloud platforms (Microsoft Azure preferred), including application hosting and troubleshooting cloud‑based services, as well as knowledge of networking concepts, authentication mechanisms (OAuth, SAML), and API integrations Pay Rate Range
