Job Overview
The Department of Technology, Management and Budget (DTMB) supports the business operations of state agencies through services such as building management, information technology, procurement, budgeting, space planning, construction, fleet operations and retirement system oversight. This Senior Software Tester position is within DTMB’s Agency Services area, supporting the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) in the Administration & Departmental Solutions division. The role provides senior quality assurance support across multiple applications and platforms including Salesforce, IBM Middleware, Amazon Web Services, Google Web Services and React solutions on OpenShift. The position requires leadership of testing initiatives, mentoring of team members, evaluation of new testing tools, documentation of impacts and risks, and active collaboration with contracted vendors. The employee will also lead quality assurance implementation of assigned client agency IT strategic direction and planning, while mentoring other DTMB staff to resolve client agency IT issues. DTMB does not participate in STEM-OPT. Responsibilities
• Lead testing initiatives for the Administration area in support of DHHS. • Provide senior software testing support across several applications and platforms including Salesforce, IBM Middleware, Amazon Web Services, Google Web Services, and React solutions on OpenShift. • Mentor and guide other team members. • Recommend new testing tools and serve as the quality assurance resource working in parallel with contracted vendors. • Lead quality assurance evaluation efforts and ensure sufficient documentation to inform DTMB management and the supported client agency of impacts and risks. • Active leadership of the quality assurance and implementation of assigned client agency IT strategic direction and planning. Qualifications
Education Possession of a bachelor’s degree with 21 semester (32 term) credits in computer science, data processing, computer information systems, data communications, networking, systems analysis, computer programming, information assurance, IT project management, or mathematics. Experience Two years of professional experience equivalent to an Information Technology Infrastructure or Programmer/Analyst P11. Two years of experience as an application programmer, computer operator, or information technology technician; or four years (8,320 hours) of experience as an Information Technology Student Assistant may be substituted for the education requirement.
