Job Purpose and Impact
The Senior Process Engineer will use engineering skills to make manufacturing processes and products better. In this job, you will help with technical support, share your experience, improve processes, and manage projects. You will work with a team on complex issues at the Fort Dodge facility. Your goal is to help make processes more stable, reliable, and efficient while reducing problems and risks. You will help the team meet cost targets and improve efficiency while ensuring safety for people, communities, the environment, and company assets.
Key Responsibilities
Gather and examine complex data about operations and suggest plans to improve how manufacturing equipment works and how processes are reported.
Work with maintenance leaders to schedule and plan maintenance for complex systems using modern technology and models to predict issues.
Collaborate with internal teams to track and manage costs at the site.
Plan and oversee production shutdowns and make sure that equipment maintenance meets legal and preventive standards.
Work with capital engineers to analyze spending on projects and find better, more cost-effective designs that result in higher quality outcomes.
Guide and monitor third-party staff to ensure safety and improve their skills over time.
Collaborate with staff from other departments to recommend best practices and create effective strategies.
Work independently on complex issues, only referring the most difficult problems to higher-level staff.
Qualifications Minimum Qualifications
A bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience
Solid knowledge of engineering concepts
At least four years of relevant work experience
Additional qualifications may be needed
Preferred Qualifications
Lean Certification
Six Sigma Green Belt Certification
Strong ability in project management and experience
Strong skills in data analysis and a background in continuous improvement
Familiarity with tools like PI (data historian), MS Project, and Statistical Software (like Seeq, Minitab)
Technical knowledge of wet or dry corn milling, ethanol production, or corn sweeteners production
