Summary Celestica is looking for talented and passionate software engineers to join our team who can help drive the next generation data center and AI compute blades.
The role demands developing, debugging, and testing software/Firmware at various levels in the hierarchy (from Firmware to Application) to be deployed in cloud/data centers. Software development cycle follows an agreed to development process (such as Agile, Scrum, etc.) and complies with the product life cycle development (phase/gate deliverables). He/she also works with cross functional teams with HW designers, customers, manufacturing engineering and project leadership to deliver high quality products to our customers.
Detailed Description The role will include the below responsibilities
Software Development :
Develop BMC/BIOS firmware in the Linux environment
Develop Diagnostic firmware for manufacturing tests and for extended testing at the assembly and deployment locations
Develop Linux device drivers (I2C, SPI, LPC, PCIE etc.)
Develop secure firmware update to all programmable components (BIOS, EEPROM, CPLD, FPGA etc.).
Working knowledge with main elements of CPU, DPU, memory, NICs, board monitoring elements is a must
Lead the firmware team technically to develop product independent, architecturally scalable and reusable firmware
Participate and lead technical discussions, review other team members artifacts, code etc
Good communication to articulate requirements and design to large and diverse audience through written documents like architecture specifications
Hardware Integration :
Board bringup and validation of all low-level interactions with hardware
Troubleshoot and resolve hardware-software interaction issues
Security :
Design and implement features for verification of trusted software like secure boot
Stay up-to-date on security best practices and vulnerability remediation
Collaboration :
Work effectively in a team environment, collaborating with engineers and peer functional leads from different disciplines to innovate solutions, triage issues and speed execution
Work with product line management, customers and sales teams to understand requirements
Leadership :
Mentor and coach team members on the technical skills and approaches to solve problems.
Present innovation and value addition of the software in technical forums and customer interactions
Knowledge/Skills/Competencies
Deeper knowledge and experience in programming in C,C++ or other low level programming languages.
Knowledge and understanding of open source, cross platform development.
Knowledge and understanding of the embedded and Linux device driver development.
Ability to technically lead several projects simultaneously and coordinate multiple, changing priorities.
Knowledge on the data center/cloud deployments from the networking , compute , storage infrastructure perspective
Physical Demands
Duties of this position are performed in a normal office environment.
Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data.
Repetitive manual movements (e.g., data entry, using a computer mouse, using a calculator, etc.) are frequently required.
Occasional travel may be required.
Typical Experience
12 to 18 years
Typical Education Bachelor degree or consideration of an equivalent combination of education and experience.
