Luna Data Solutions, Inc is seeking an experienced
Emergency Management and Business Continuity Consultant
in the Austin, TX metropolitan area for a Part-Time contract position consisting of approximately 20 hrs. per week. The primary role of this position will be to support the evolution of its preparedness, response, and recovery programs. This contract role is critical in advancing the client’s emergency management and business continuity capabilities through planning, coordination, and organizational education. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on expertise in developing and implementing emergency management and business continuity frameworks, conducting exercises, and leading cross-functional collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in developing, updating, and maintaining
emergency management and business continuity plans, procedures, and protocols .
Support the coordination and execution of
business continuity exercises, drills, and trainings .
Aid in the creation and maintenance of
documentation, reports, and records
related to emergency response and recovery.
Assist in preparing
after-action reviews
following trainings, exercises, or real events to identify lessons learned and improvement opportunities.
Collaborate with
cross-functional teams
to ensure integration of emergency management and business continuity strategies across the organization.
Conduct
research on industry best practices
and emerging trends to inform the client’s program enhancements.
Key Projects
Employee Outreach and Education:
Develop and implement an employee education program to promote awareness of emergency preparedness and response principles.
After-Action Reviews:
Lead structured after-action review sessions to document findings and improve operational resilience.
EOP and BCP Revisions:
Support the update and enhancement of the client’s Emergency Operations Plan (EOP) and Business Continuity Plan (BCP) to align with current best practices and organizational needs.
Qualifications
5 7 years
of progressive experience in
emergency management, business continuity, or disaster preparedness , including program development or enhancement.
Demonstrated ability to
develop, implement, and evaluate
organizational emergency and continuity strategies.
Strong
communication, facilitation, and organizational
skills with experience engaging leadership and cross-departmental teams.
Proficiency in
Microsoft Office Suite
and comfort with
data analysis tools .
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor s degree in
Emergency Management, Business Continuity, Public Administration , or a related field
Prior Project Management Experience
Prior experience in the National Incident Management System (NIMS) and Incident Command System (ICS)
Prior experience or certification in ISO22031 Business Continuity Management System (BCMS)
