Background
Prospect-Tech is a growing company of ~30 people who provide small-batch production runs to the Aerospace and Medical device markets. We are looking for a Lead CNC programmer in turning to support increased customer demand. The top candidates would be those that can program multi-channel dual turret turn-mill machines with sub spindles making difficult parts in materials such as Inconel and stainless steel.
Professional Education / Experience Required
High school diploma or equivalent
Technical Certificate
Five (+) years’ experience programming and operating CNC Lathes with live tooling/Y axis / subspindle (Long hand G/M code, CAM programming, Fanuc control)
Skills Required
Blueprint reading including strong GD&T understanding.
Use of CNC lathe with live tooling and sub spindle (Fanuc)
Hyper mill programming experience or equivalent CAM, G/M code programming
Use of hand measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, indicators, etc)
Ability to select material sizing required
Ability to select cutting tools required and build cutting tool assemblies in CAM to construct set-up sheets
Ability to select fixturing or design fixturing needed to process jobs
Ability to create process control plans within process inspection strategies and proactive tool life management
Ability to work closely with set-up machinists and operators to continuously improve programs and processes.
Strong written technical communication skills
Responsibilities
Program and set-up CNC machines making small lot Aerospace, Space, Defense, and Medical Device parts from 3D files and a drawing
Input to program time, cycle time, and tooling cost estimating
Assist operation manager to maintain production schedule on turning centers
Work closely with planners to ensure the right material and tooling gets ordered for jobs
Work with other programmers on team to process backlog of parts
Verify and edit machine settings and CNC program parameters in Hypermill and at the machine control as necessary
Update Engineering Manager and Operations Manager on status of jobs, proactively plan for tooling/fixturing required, and input to the operations schedule as needed
Gather feedback from operators and set-up machinists and improve programs as necessary
Train operators after jobs have been set-up
Use precision measuring tools to verify in-process dimensions and make necessary adjustments to maintain quality standards
Work within ISO9000 / AS9100 Quality Management System

Job Type & Benefits
Full-time Position with base 40-45 hours /week with overtime at 1.5x as business requires
First Shift (6:30a-3p) $35-$45+/hr based on experience and shift
