What You Will Do
Develop Hardware and Software Requirements and SysML Diagrams
Assess Project impact on Overall System Architecture
Develop Hardware and Software Qualification Test Procedures/Documents
Coordinate with Program Management
Provide presentations to communicate status to program leadership and the customer
Review Requirements, SysML Models, and Test Procedure/Documents with Customer
Lead Hardware and Software Qualification testing with government witness
Accountable for execution of multiple program projects
Responsibilities Raytheon is seeking a Close-In Weapon System (CIWS) Systems Engineer to support multiple CIWS projects during development through testing. A Senior Principal Systems Engineer responsibilities include developing Hardware and Software requirements documents as part of smaller multidisciplinary teams, assess impacts to existing and future system architecture, coordinate across multiple simultaneous development efforts, develop Test Procedures/Documents for Hardware and Software Testing, execute hardware and software test activities, coordinating with government counterparts, providing briefings to program management, and collaborating with technical and program leads to execute program tasks. Responsibilities also include managing tasking of early career engineers.
Qualifications You Must Have
Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, Physics, Mathematics, or a related STEM degree and ten (10) years of prior relevant experience
Experience in sub-systems, systems engineering, requirement development and requirement validation
Active and transferrable US government issued Secret security clearance is required prior to start date. US Citizenship is required, as only US citizens are eligible for security clearance.
Qualifications We Prefer
Advanced Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering.
Demonstrated exceptional customer focus.
Excellent communication skills, including verbal, technical writing, and engineering presentations to all levels of management.
Experience with systems engineering activities involving a complex weapons system.
Experience developing system and subsystem level weapon specifications, interface design documents, and specifications for overall system architecture and performance objectives.
Experience working with MK15 Phalanx Close-In Weapon System (CIWS).

Salary range: $124,000 USD - $250,000 USD.
