General Description The Department of Economics seeks faculty candidates beginning in Fall 2026. The University invites candidates for all ranks and all areas of specialization. Two endowed positions are available: the Aronson Family Professorship in Economics (healthcare economics, health policy, or economics of cities) and the Steven M. Kaye Professorship of Economics (health economics, urban economics, inequality, labor economics, or public economics).

Responsibilities All appointees are expected to teach at the undergraduate and graduate level and pursue research and teaching excellence. Assistant Professor level candidates should be on the trajectory to become leaders in their fields.

Qualifications

Applicants should have a strong research record and relevant scholarly achievement.

Candidates must be committed to research and teaching excellence and to both undergraduate and graduate teaching.

Applicants for a tenure‑track Assistant Professor Position should arrange for three letters of recommendation to be sent separately via Interfolio.

Salary Range $184,500 – $209,000. The referenced salary range represents the minimum and maximum salaries for this position and is based on Johns Hopkins University's good faith belief at the time of posting.
