Overview
Our client is seeking a highly skilled Controller to lead accounting and financial operations for a rapidly growing real estate and property management organization. This position plays a key role in financial reporting, compliance, budgeting, and strategic decision support. The ideal candidate brings strong accounting expertise, leadership ability, and a proactive approach to improving systems and processes. Responsibilities
Oversee and manage the month-end close process, including reconciliations, journal entries, and financial reporting across multiple entities Prepare consolidated financial statements, audit schedules, and supporting documentation for internal and external reporting Ensure compliance with GAAP, tax regulations, and internal controls Manage accounts payable and receivable, treasury functions, and cash flow forecasting Develop and maintain financial systems, reporting tools, and standardized accounting procedures Supervise and mentor accounting staff, ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines Partner with leadership to establish budgets, track performance, and identify areas for improvement Oversee tax filings, franchise reports, and other required submissions Lead process improvement initiatives, software implementations, and system integrations within the finance department Serve as liaison with external auditors, banks, and financial partners Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA preferred 5+ years of experience in a Controller or senior accounting leadership role Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and accounting regulations Experience managing multi-entity accounting structures Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software; Yardi or similar property management system experience a plus Exceptional communication, leadership, and analytical skills Ability to manage multiple priorities with precision and attention to detail
