Position Description This position will act as a strategic partner with the Boardwalk Operations & Engineering team at the Houston office to implement effective HR practices and/or systems that align with business objectives.
Responsibilities
Serve as a consultant to management on HR related issues such as talent development, performance management, employee relations, leadership development, workforce planning, labor relations, training objectives, and compensation
Provide day‑to‑day guidance to front line managers and other employees which may include coaching, counseling, career development, policy interpretation, general guidance and questions
Manage complex employee relations issues and conduct effective investigations as necessary
Provide project management to department and/or customers in a variety of programs related to organizational effectiveness
Work closely with leadership to identify process improvements and deliver solutions
Maintain in depth current knowledge of federal and state regulations to ensure compliance
Additional HR related duties such as conducting exit interviews, onboarding, maintaining HRIS data integrity, reporting, recruiting and interviewing
Travel as required throughout BWP organization
Support and guidance in succession / workforce planning for assigned areas
Required Skills, Knowledge, And Experience
2-5 years HR Generalist experience or equivalent
Working knowledge of multiple HR disciplines
In depth knowledge of federal and state labor laws
Strong consulting and coaching skills
Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to convey sensitive information with professionalism and discretion
Proactive, solution‑oriented mindset with a strong commitment to exceptional customer service
Self‑directed and motivated
Ability to interface with all levels of the organization
Proven business acumen
Project management capabilities
Proficient in MS Office products
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
Ability to travel up to 15% of the time
Preferred Skills, Knowledge, And Experience
Experience in the oil and gas liquids and transmission industry or manufacturing
HR Certifications
Required Education
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration or related field
