Software Application Engineer

Key Role:

Support the government client's security operations mission. Perform the deployment, operation, administration, troubleshooting, updating, securing, and maintenance of systems, software, and infrastructure that enable enterprise cybersecurity capabilities. Operate, maintain, and administer existing network and systems architectures, including hardware, software, physical cabling, and IP address management. Support a broad range of technical environments and responsibilities, including networking and security devices, circuits, automated systems, servers, client computers, applications, databases, voice systems, helpdesk support, asset and inventory management, and field technical support.

Basic Qualifications:

8+ years of experience designing and developing APIs and data integrations for enterprise IT systems

Experience with designing and building REST and SOAP-based API integrations between the GRC platform and external systems such as HSDW, CDM, and CyberScope

Experience in developing secure, authenticated data flows using JSON/XML structures aligned with cybersecurity and privacy policies

Ability to collaborate with developers and business analysts to define integration requirements and establish data transformation logic

Ability to support client enterprise reporting by enabling automated data pulls from the GRC platform into metrics platforms and compliance dashboards

Ability to monitor, test, and troubleshoot data exchange pipelines and ensure the uptime, accuracy, and performance of integration solutions

Ability to maintain detailed documentation of integration endpoints, schemas, credentials, and data flow mappings in accordance with HHS audit standards

Ability to support system modernization and automation initiatives by evaluating third‑party connector tools and optimizing API performance

Public Trust

Bachelor's degree in a Computer Science or Information Systems field

Additional Qualifications:

Experience with GRC tooling, such as Archer, ServiceNow, or Power BI

Experience with ServiceNow integrations

Experience with automating application security testing, assessment, or validation

Experience with containerization, OpenShift, and K8s

Experience with databases and data analytics, such as SQL and R

Experience with web application development, such as Flask, Django, or Java

Knowledge of the OSI Model and enterprise network architecture

Knowledge of Zero Trust concepts and maturity

Knowledge of web server and application development and administration, such as Apache or IIS, Flask, Django, or Java

Vetting:

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract‑specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $69,300.00 to $158,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
