What does the role entail? At Hyatt, we believe our guests select Hyatt because of our caring and attentive associates who are focused on providing efficient service and meaningful experiences.
The Associate Director of Events assists with hiring, training, managing and coaching Event Colleagues . This position will be the second in command in the Events department and will report directly to the Director of Events. This person is assigned specific administrative responsibilities that include supervisory duties over several aspects of the Events department and will assist with oversight, including Meeting Concierges, Event Coordinators, Event Trainees, Event Planning Managers and Event Sales Managers. This position will still be required to carry and achieve a quota and/or service groups.
This position will work closely with the hotel operations team to design and/or uphold standards to ensure maximum customer satisfaction. The position will also work closely with the Director of Events to drive colleague engagement and department success and efficiencies. Additionally, they will liaison with the additional associate leadership team members in the hotel to design and drive hotel metrics and may be asked to step in for the Director of Events in their absence. Preferred candidates will have previous Hyatt experience and the desire to grow toward a Director position.

Qualifications
A true desire to satisfy the needs of others in a fast paced environment.
Good operational, organizational, administrative and interpersonal skills
Finding solutions to difficult problems to enhance the event experience for the meeting planner and attendees
Refined verbal and written communication skills.
Create and assist in preparing policies and procedures
Must be able to train staff and enhance the experience of the events team
Understand and support hotel’s overall goals and objectives
Must be proficient in general computer knowledge
6 years in Hotel Event Sales and/or Event Planning in a supervisory/management role
Understand forecasting, revenue and expense reporting
CMP Certified preferred
Has completed Key-Op Training
Able and willing to relocate
