Darwin Recruitment
Inventory Lead
Alameda, CA | Full-Time Onsite Industry: Aerospace, Manufacturing, Logistics
A Bay Area aerospace company is hiring an
Inventory Lead
to take charge of all inventory and logistics operations at their facility. This is a hands-on role where you’ll have full responsibility for how materials move through the building – from receiving parts to shipping finished hardware.
The company is going through a full rebuild, which makes this a rare opportunity to inherit the current system, identify what works, and lead changes that make a real difference. If you’re someone who knows how to clean up messy processes, bring structure to warehouse operations, and take full ownership of results, they’re looking for you.
What You’ll Be Doing
Own all material flow on-site, from inbound receiving to outbound shipping
Lead process improvement across inventory, tools, data, and physical layout
Stand up and run a proper cycle count program
Keep the ERP system accurate and up to date with regular audits and dashboards
Track key metrics like inventory accuracy, kit completeness, and shipping quality
Work closely with procurement, production control, and build teams to keep parts flowing
Drive accountability for material handling and inventory processes across the site
Mentor or manage a small team of inventory specialists
✅ What You’ll Need
Experience running inventory or logistics inside a regulated build environment
Strong understanding of ERP systems and how to keep inventory data clean
A track record of fixing broken processes and making improvements stick
Comfort working in a fast-changing startup or rebuild environment
Good eye for detail and a willingness to get hands-on when needed
Confidence leading small teams and running daily ops with autonomy
⭐ Bonus Points For
Aerospace or high-mix, low-volume production background
Familiarity with production control, kitting, or receiving workflows
Experience running cycle count programs or setting up dashboard reporting
Knowledge of lean tools like 5S or kaizen
Past success leading cross-functional improvement efforts
This is not a back-office job. It’s an on-the-floor role where you’ll see the impact of your work every day. If you want to own your space, bring order to a fast-moving shop, and help launch hardware into orbit, this might be your next move.
