The Mailchimp Finance Operations engineering team plays a vital role in developing and maintaining our intricate billing systems, payment processor integrations, and financial data reports. With numerous innovative projects on the horizon, we are seeking an Engineering Manager to lead the team to success.
Intuit Mailchimp is a hybrid workplace, giving employees the opportunity to collaborate in person with team members in our NYC and Atlanta offices three or more days per week.
Responsibilities
Lead and Mentor: Manage, coach, and develop a team of software engineers, fostering their growth and ensuring high performance. Conduct regular one-on-ones, provide constructive feedback, and support career development.
Technical Leadership: Provide technical guidance and direction to the team on architecture, design, and implementation of complex features. Ensure the team adheres to best practices in software development, including code quality, testing, and CI/CD.
Project Delivery: Oversee the end-to-end software development lifecycle, from planning and design through to deployment and maintenance. Ensure projects are delivered on time and meet quality standards.
Collaboration: Partner closely with product management, design, and other engineering leaders to define product strategy, roadmap, and requirements for the email editing and template experience.
Operational Excellence: Drive operational excellence within the team, focusing on system reliability, performance, scalability, and security.
Innovation: Encourage and foster a culture of innovation, exploring new technologies and approaches to enhance our product and engineering practices.
Hiring & Team Building: Actively participate in recruiting and hiring top engineering talent to build a diverse and high-performing team.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
10+ years of experience in software development, with a strong understanding of modern web technologies.
3+ years of experience in a leadership or management role, directly managing software engineers.
Proven experience in leading teams to deliver complex software projects in an Agile environment.
Strong understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and best practices.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.
Ability to inspire and motivate a team, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
Familiarity with microservices architecture and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud).
Experience with performance optimization and scalability of web applications.
Experience and familiarity with AI and GenAI.
Compensation & Benefits Intuit provides a competitive compensation package with a strong pay-for-performance rewards approach. This position will be eligible for a cash bonus, equity rewards and benefits, in accordance with our applicable plans and programs.
Pay offered is based on factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and work location. To drive ongoing fair pay for employees, Intuit conducts regular comparisons across categories of ethnicity and gender.
The expected base pay ranges are:
New York, NY: 208,000 - 281,500
Atlanta, GA: 173,500 - 234,500
