WHAT DO YOU DO AS A SENIOR STAFF ACCOUNTANT? This is a

full-time

financial position, located at one of our company offices.

As a Senior Staff Accountant, you will spend much of your time managing fixed assets, property taxes, and accruals. You will document processes and procedures across the company and recommend changes to leadership to improve efficiency. You will also implement these changes and scale them across all locations. Each day, you will handle tasks such as COA and DFA maintenance, posting corporate distributions, and processing month end. You will provide accounting assistance to the Controller, CFO, COO, and CEO, and respond to financial questions or concerns. You will ensure that information is properly maintained for historical purposes.

Your fixed asset work will include maintaining assets in depreciation software, recording entries for acquisitions, disposals, transfers, and monthly depreciation, posting Right of Use entries, reconciling general ledger balances, and coordinating or performing periodic physical inventory. Your property tax responsibilities will involve accruing monthly real estate and personal property expenses, posting timely entries for payments, and reconciling accruals. You will also maintain prepaid and monthly accrual schedules, review balance sheet accounts for errors or anomalies, and complete variance analysis for questionable balances or transactions. In addition, you will gather and submit information for 1099s, review parts and service invoicing for consistency and margin opportunities, and complete other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS FOR OUR SENIOR STAFF ACCOUNTANT:

Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or an MBA

5+ years of related accounting experience

Strong understanding of accrual accounting, GAAP, general ledger trial balance, income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel or Microsoft Access

Ability to legally operate a motor vehicle day or night

Ability to travel by auto on trips up to 6 hours in one direction, with occasional overnight travel as needed
