Public Trust Advisors, LLC is a Denver-based investment advisory firm looking for a Junior Credit Research Analyst. This position reports to the Head of Credit Research and is a member of the Public Trust Credit Team and Credit Committee, working closely with others in a dynamic and collaborative work environment. This position must develop an understanding of the fundamental credit analysis of fixed income issuers as well as the analysis of the macroeconomic climate and high grade corporate issuers. The credit review process requires complete fundamental and risk management reviews as well as relative value analyses. The role will be under the tutelage of Senior Credit Analysts. A successful candidate will have 0-3 years of experience in an investment role or related function, be proficient in conducting research and drafting issuer and sector wide analysis, and must display strong communication skills (both written and verbal). Progress toward or completion of level 1 of the CFA program is beneficial, but not required. The coverage of the Jr. Credit Research Analyst will include but is not limited to: Canadian Pensions, Federal Home Loan wrapped banks, Government related & sponsored entities, Industrials, Information Technology, and municipals.
Qualifications Required
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, or related field required
0-3 years of experience in investment analysis or a related function
Ability to analyze large amounts of data and distill findings
Demonstrated interest in public financial markets particularly fixed income
Strong intellectual curiosity, initiative, and time management skills
Competencies Required
Computer Skills:
MS Office
Advanced Excel skills
Familiarity with S&P Capital IQ and Bloomberg is a plus
Soft Skills
Excellent oral and written communication skills. Incumbent will demonstrate the ability to concisely distill an issuer’s story; highlighting meaningful factors of cash generation and deployment; and communicate the strengths, weaknesses, and areas of due diligence for an issuer.
Keen sense of macroeconomic and sector trends and the ability to convey impacts on the credit issuers and portfolio holdings.
Ability to think quickly on their feet and defend their analysis.
Exercise independent judgment and work well with all levels of employees.
Strong presentation skills to diversified audiences.
Accuracy and attention to detail.
Strong teamwork skills required.
