Vacancy Announcement Faculty Tenure-Track Position Starting Fall 2026 Department of Social Work DESCRIPTION:
Cal Poly Humboldt and the Department of Social Work invites applicants for a full-time, academic year, tenure-track faculty position with an emphasis in scholarship or practice that centers Native American knowledge and/or Anti-Racist practice or scholarship. This position will teach in the Social Work bachelor's and master's degree programs, both on-campus and online courses, as available.
DEPARTMENT: The Department of Social Work maintains an emphasis on working with Native American and rural communities. Coursework is designed to decolonize mainstream social work practice by building reciprocal and dynamic relationships and to support people who are rooted in their communities. The Department of Social Work offers courses year-round on campus and online through our Distributed Learning BASW and MSW Programs. Our CSWE accredited BASW Program has been educating students since 1945, while the accredited MSW program began in 2004. Beginning in 2011/12, the department initiated online BASW and MSW programs to serve rural and tribal communities. Of the three colleges on campus, Social Work is part of the College of Professional Studies. The Social Work Department includes approximately 385 students, and we are growing. The department is committed to collaborative partnerships with tribal, community-based and global initiatives.
