Overview
Location: San Diego, CA | Schedule: Hybrid (onsite + remote flexibility) | Compensation: $90,000 – $105,000 + benefits
A San Diego-based law firm is seeking an experienced Legal Assistant to provide high-level support to the Managing Partner. This hybrid role offers the opportunity to work on a wide range of matters—including litigation, healthcare, intellectual property, and insurance coverage—while collaborating in a professional and supportive environment. The ideal candidate has a strong background in business litigation, excellent communication skills, and proven experience supporting attorneys in state and federal court practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide administrative and legal support to the Managing Partner, including heavy client interaction.
- Manage complex calendars, coordinate client and board meetings, and arrange travel.
- Draft, proofread, and format legal documents with precision and accuracy.
- Handle court filings in state and federal courts, including e-filing and case monitoring.
- Assist in litigation and transactional matters across multiple practice areas.
- Maintain office procedures, strengthen client/vendor relationships, and ensure workflow efficiency.
Must-Have Experience
- 3–5 years as a litigation legal assistant in a law firm setting.
- Experience with state and federal court filings and procedures.
- Business litigation background (healthcare experience a plus).
- Proactive, highly organized, and deadline-driven with strong follow-through.
- Exceptional attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities.
- Case management and calendaring experience to keep attorneys on track.
- Technical proficiency with Microsoft Office, Adobe Pro, and formatting (TOC/TOA); iManage experience a plus.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to interact directly with clients.
