About the Role The Demand Planner is responsible for monthly and annual demand forecasting to support the global revenue plan. This individual will create and maintain forecast models, conduct detailed analysis to build efficient category demand/supply projections, and optimize inventory to sustain procurement decisions.
Responsibilities
Develop and execute merchandise plans that align with company objectives and financial targets (e.g., gross sales, inventory turnover).
Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Product, and other teams to gain insight to key demand drivers such as customer opportunities, sales trends and strategies, marketing promotions, new product launches, and other initiatives.
Measure and analyze forecast accuracy and other key metrics, identifying and addressing forecast variances and related risks and opportunities.
Perform and/or support supply optimization through analysis of safety stock, warehouse levels, and stock transfers.
Maintain necessary data in planning systems to facilitate effective usage.
Analyze product performance, identify best‑sellers and slow‑movers, and recommend appropriate actions (e.g., markdowns, promotions, reorders).
Partner with our international procurement team to ensure timely delivery of merchandise & efficient inventory management.
Participate in the development and implementation of planning tools and systems.
Qualifications
Strong planning theory knowledge and the ability to operate inside & outside of a planning system.
3 years related experience in demand planning, forecasting, supply planning, allocation, or inventory management.
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Retail Management, Merchandising or related field preferred.
Highly proficient with Microsoft Excel.
Knowledge of Power BI preferred but not required.
Strong analytical and planning skills.
Thorough understanding of retail math principles & financial metrics.
Ability to work independently & in a cross‑functional, team‑oriented environment.
Ability to create, manage, and improve existing processes.
Strong communication and presentation skills with ability to communicate effectively across various presentation settings and audiences ranging from peers to executives.
Results‑oriented and self‑motivated with a strong sense of urgency.
