What you will do As a Metro Market Lead Systems Specialist (Senior Project Manager), for our HVAC division, you will under general direction, act as the on-site project leader to plan, execute, and complete control systems and mechanical projects with assigned customers.
Perform or delegate tasks to fully complete assigned projects including work with system designers on hardware submittals, system programming, installation coordination, system and network commissioning and project closeout.
Provide work direction to subcontractors, electrical installers, technicians, designers, and administration as necessary.
Be responsible for overall financial results of assigned projects including costs, project billings, and collections.
Maintain an effective balance between customer satisfaction and project financial results.
Coordinate communication with the customer during all phases of the project, actively pursue selling change orders.
Ensure work performed is in compliance with state, local and Federal legal requirements and operates on the job with the highest of ethics.
How you will do it
Review designs for mechanical equipment and HVAC control systems.
Act as the primary on-site leader for execution teams on assigned projects.
Review and interpret drawings, specifications, and contract Terms & Conditions.
Develop project execution plan, site safety plan, MS project schedule and execute accordingly.
Negotiate, prepare and issue subcontracts.
Support System Designers and System Engineers in evaluating scope of work and construction schedule.
Prepare proposals and negotiate final settlement price and customer acceptance.
Communicate status of projects to management and publish monthly forecasts of revenue, costs, and gross margin.
Submit billings timely and accurately to the client and assist in collection.
Analyze financial reporting systems and project schedules to proactively address potential problems.
Manage risks and establish project recovery plans when required.
Negotiate pricing and availability from outside vendors and suppliers.
Oversee subcontractor payment and billing processes.
Oversee project construction for compliance with specifications, local codes and installation techniques.
Develop and maintain viable long-term relationships with customers, consultants, prime contractors and subcontractors.
Coordinate with Sales & Operations Managers, Construction Management Services and Branch Installation Manager for allocation of resources needed to meet project objectives.
Ensure any engineering and commissioning performed by the field team is in accordance with established standards.
Coordinate customer-training requirements.
Required
Bachelor's degree in Construction, Civil, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture or direct General Contracting and Mechanical and HVAC Controls Construction project management experience.
Minimum of seven or more years of direct project leader management experience.
Must have experience with installing chillers, AHUs, Fan Coil units, boilers, etc.
Must understand HVAC controls, including DDC controllers, actuators, valves, temperature and pressure sensors, dampers, etc.
Must have knowledge of mechanical systems and their application.
Six years field experience with installing HVAC Equipment and systems, including knowledge of digital HVAC controls, and mechanical estimating tools/methods.
Knowledge of project accounting, costing principals and contracting. High-level competence in written and verbal communication.
Ability to travel based upon geographical locations of assigned teams.
HIRING SALARY RANGE: $155,000-$175,000. This position includes a competitive benefits package.
