invites application for the 2026 Future Talent Program – 3DT Operations – Co‑op. The co‑op lasts up to 6 months and includes one or more projects within our Global Support Functions Division, providing development opportunities and allowing you to determine if Merck is the right long‑term fit.

Overview and Purpose Our 3D Technologies (3DT) enterprise team acts as a business partner to propose ideas and innovative solutions that enable new organizational capabilities. The 3DT Operations center fabricates internal ideas and data. In this role, the co‑op/intern will be primarily focused on operational (Ops) support, through efforts such as building and qualifying printers, repairing/upgrading equipment, process improvement, and documenting best practices.

Key Responsibilities

Build and assemble 3D printers, including prosumer‑grade models such as Voron or Ratrig.

Qualify new printers into service and outline processing conditions to meet minimum quality controls (primarily FDM and Resin Vat).

Repair, upgrade, or up‑knowledge existing printers.

Identify root cause of print failures across a fleet through systematic analysis.

Perform upgrades or process improvement to improve speed, reliability, and versatility.

Continuous improvement of workflows, including automation of part removal on high‑volume builds.

Document best practices and create SOPs for new equipment or workflows.

Hands‑on post‑processing techniques to ensure high‑quality parts for pharmaceutical cleanroom use.

Participate in outreach events such as Take Your Child to Work Day.

Collaborate with different departments and multiple parts of a pharmaceutical process.

Required Education and Experience

Currently pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or related discipline.

Currently enrolled in an academic program and will return to university following this co‑op assignment to complete credit requirements for graduation.

Available for full‑time employment for a period of 6 months (Apr 2026 – Sep 2026).

Preferred Experience and Skills

Some knowledge of CAD.

Hands‑on experience with 3D printers (CAD, slicing, printing, fixing printers).

Good documentation skills.

Salary Range $39,600.00 – $105,500.00 USD
