Harlem Children\'s Zone (HCZ) seeks an enthusiastic, dedicated, and mission-aligned
Program Aide
to support our After-School program. The
Program Aide
will bring a passion for HCZ\'s mission: break the cycle of intergenerational poverty with comprehensive, on-the-ground programming that builds opportunities for children and families to thrive in school, work, and life. The program will join one of HCZ/Promise Academy after-school programs that serves thousands of kids in Central Harlem through a fun, safe, and high-quality learning experience. The individual will be an enthusiastic, reliable team player who contributes energy, creativity, and care to ensure a great after-school program this year. Previous experience with children or youth in educational, extracurricular, or after-school settings is preferred but not required. Requirements High School Diploma or GED Who You Are A commitment to the mission and programs of HCZ Some experience working with students and/or at-risk youth Excellent communication skills, both oral and written Familiar with issues prevalent in underserved communities Must be able to engage and motivate students What You\'ll Do Work directly with students in activities such as arts, dance, and sports Assist teachers with participants\' physical, emotional, social, moral, and intellectual development Create and implement activities, workshops, and events based on student interests Model positive behavior for the youth Engage youth in one-to-one and group discussions on topics appropriate to their age and development Assist in homework completion and test prep Maintain supplies and classroom/area upkeep Perform other duties as assigned Schedule Fall & Spring: Monday–Thursday 3:00pm–8:00pm; Friday 2:00pm–6:00pm Summer Hours: Monday–Friday 8:00am–4:00pm Benefits Career advancement Paid sick leave Employee referral bonus Physical wellness discounts Commuter benefits Additional benefits (discounts on flights, hotels, theme parks, concert tickets, and more) The salary range is $20.00 per hour.
