to lead the installation and commissioning of EMS (Energy Management Systems) and BAS (Building Automation Systems) controls for high-profile commercial refrigeration projects. This is a hands-on role with responsibility for both field execution and project performance. About the Role The

Controls Specialist

will travel frequently out of town to project sites across the Southeast, work flexible shifts, including nights, and lead field installation and commissioning of supermarket and cold storage EMS/BAS systems. Travel frequently out of town to project sites across the Southeast Work flexible shifts, including nights Lead field installation and commissioning of supermarket and cold storage EMS/BAS systems Supervise controls crews and subcontractors, ensuring quality and safety Install, wire, and troubleshoot sensors, relays, VFDs, controllers, and network devices Interpret and work from schematics, panel drawings, and technical documentation Commission systems and ensure seamless integration with HVAC-R equipment Act as the primary field point-of-contact for clients and internal stakeholders Track labor, materials, and job costs to maintain project profitability Uphold all compliance, workmanship, and safety standards What You Bring Proven experience with EMS/BAS installation and commissioning Expertise in supermarket EMS/BAS platforms (Danfoss, Emerson, Honeywell, Novar, etc.) Knowledge of low-voltage wiring, panel terminations, and control logic Ability to read and interpret electrical/control schematics Strong leadership, communication, and accountability skills Experience managing labor hours, materials, and profitability Willingness to travel and work flexible schedules Preferred Qualifications 5+ years in EMS/BAS controls for commercial refrigeration or HVAC Prior experience as crew lead, foreman, or field supervisor Familiarity with refrigeration rack systems, VFDs, and communication protocols OSHA 10/30 certification (preferred) EPA Universal certification (preferred) Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation What's Offered Competitive pay & benefits (401k, health insurance, paid vacation, holidays, generous referral bonus) Year-round steady work with regional & national clients Growth opportunities with training and career development Strong reputation for safety, quality, and excellence
