The Assistant Director of Training and Compliance Programs is a key contributor to the development and execution of crew training initiatives, ensuring EJM\'s training programs adhere to regulatory standards and compliance, and EJM\'s policies and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). This role requires staying current with an evolving industry landscape which will influence how EJM\'s flight operations, crew qualifications, and compliance requirements are developed. Responsibilities
Monitor operational systems for regulatory and internal policy compliance Support the Director of Training with compliance-related tasks, including training center audits, curriculum development, and crew training observations Interpret regulations and provide guidance to support daily operational objectives Foster relationships and communication with approved third-party training centers Deliver supplemental instruction for initial and recurrent training programs for Part 135 and Part 91 crew members Provide backup instruction for initial and recurrent training sessions, both onsite at EJM and offsite, in coordination with the Ground Instructor team Location
This is an on-site role based at EJM’s headquarters in Cincinnati, OH. This position is not eligible for remote or commuter arrangements. Tasks and Responsibilities
Support the design and ongoing maintenance of curricula for mandatory crewmember training programs, aligning with current regulatory requirements and business standards. Foster a positive learning atmosphere that prioritizes flight safety, exceptional service, and brand integrity while helping monitor procedural compliance within EJM processes. Provide backup instruction for initial and recurrent training sessions, onsite and offsite, in coordination with the Ground Instructor team. Assist in auditing third-party training vendors to ensure compliance with applicable regulations, FAA guidance, operating policies, and training standards. Collaborate with the Director of Operations and/or Chief Pilot to design and complete crew member flight training evaluations as needed. Design and review crew member training scenarios for internal instruction and crew flight training evaluations as needed. Coordinate with the Crew Training and Records and Crew Scheduling teams to provide clarity when interpreting FAA regulations and guidance documents. Experience & Qualifications
Years of Experience: 4-6 years Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other (KSAOs)
Check Airman, Ground Instructor or Instructor Pilot experience with a Part 121, Part 135, or 91K air carrier (preferred) Line pilot qualifications, active or inactive appropriate for the position (preferred) Experience in developing and delivering training programs in an aviation environment Experience in evaluating and/or interpreting 14 CFR Parts 61, 91, and 135 regulations, 8900.1 guidance, and other FAA documents Two or more years’ experience with a Part 91, 121, or 135 air carrier operations management Excellent project management skills Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with FAA management personnel and with EJM’s training partners Superior verbal and written communication skills Ability to operate in a highly complex, interrelated environment Knowledge of internal EJM manuals and policies Proficiency in training management systems and compliance monitoring tools Operational experience with ATP (strongly preferred), CFI/CFII/AGI (preferred), and Dispatch instruction How EJM Supports You
