Senior Planner – Billings, MT Office IMEG is growing, and we'd love to have you join our team! We are currently seeking a

Senior Planner

in our Billings, MT office. As a Senior Planner you will be responsible for leading the design efforts on all project types, act as the project manager on less complex site projects and assist a senior project manager in project management on more complex site projects. There will be a responsibility for working closely with both internal team colleagues, as well as other IMEG land development professionals that are involved in the land development process for the respective project.

Primary responsibilities will include plan design, plan processing and plan implementation through the project design process. In this position, the expectation is to manage the project's budget to meet the project goals and client expectations. The role will also involve leading and mentoring the team's planner graduates and project planners.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Completes and reviews land planning and zoning research and calculations for associated plans and studies

Prepares and reviews land use and zoning analysis summary memos and site evaluation studies

Completes and reviews entitlement drawing submission packages

Completes and reviews various exhibits, presentation graphics and renderings

Completes and reviews lot yield sketches and master plans

Completes technical support tasks for condemnation project work

Project management on less complex site projects, including budgeting, scheduling, billing, determining staff needs, attending meetings and addressing client concerns and deliverables

Train, mentor and motivate staff

Build, maintain and develop client relationships

Key Skills and Abilities

Advanced Proficiency with Microsoft and MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Outlook

Advanced Proficiency with AutoCAD

Advanced Experience with Adobe Suite and SketchUp

Good research skills and strong technical design skills

Good analysis and problem solving skills, with an attention to detail

Good written and verbal communication skills, as well as interpersonal skills

Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

Good organizational skills, particularly with regard to project management

Ability to sell work and develop client relationships

Ability to mentor, train, motivate and lead others

Demonstrates leadership traits in the Project Management career path

Eagerness to learn and adapt to new challenges

Education and Experience Requirements

Bachelor's Degree (Planning, Environmental Studies, Architecture or Arts) or equivalent required

American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) Certification preferred, but not required

7 years minimum experience required, 8 preferred, in land development

Alternative Qualification Path

Associates degree and/or AICP Certification Preferred

11 years minimum experience required, 12 preferred, in land development
