Key Responsibilities
In-house
Participate in the assembly and testing of control panels before deployment Configure, commission, and troubleshoot VFDs under controlled conditions Collaborate with engineers to debug and refine electrical installations Document panel assembly and testing procedures for future reference
Supervise electrical contractors during the installation of control panels and associated equipment Perform electrical installations under the direction of engineers and following established guidelines Power up control panels and verify communication with connected machinery Check Input/Output (I/O) points for proper operation and troubleshoot any discrepancies Configure, commission, and troubleshoot Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) for motor control applications Understand VFD parameters and settings to ensure optimal performance of motors and machinery Troubleshoot VFD-related issues, such as motor faults, communication errors, and parameter mismatches Perform preventative maintenance on VFDs to ensure their reliability and longevity Assist engineers with system commissioning, including program uploading, VFD parameter adjustments, and system testing Train maintenance personnel on basic operation and troubleshooting of the control system Document installation and commissioning activities for future reference Maintain a safe and organized work environment Build strong relationships with clients and provide technical support as needed
What We Need You To Have
Associate’s degree in electrical technology or a related field, or equivalent experience Two years of experience in industrial electrical installations Proven ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and wiring diagrams Strong understanding of basic electrical principles, including AC/DC power, motor control, and electrical safety protocols Strong understanding of mechanical principles Experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and industrial communication protocols is a plus Experience with Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) is highly desirable Knowledge of motor control principles and applications is a strong asset Ability to use VFD diagnostic tools and software to troubleshoot and resolve issues Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot technical issues independently Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with engineers, clients, and contractors Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment Valid driver's license Domestic travel requirement between 50-75% Additional Information
