Overview

The Product Owner for Specialty Insurance plays a key role in shaping and executing the operations strategy for a growing portfolio of specialty insurance products. This role bridges the gap between business objectives and technical execution, ensuring that employees, partners, and customers benefit from streamlined, efficient, and innovative end-to-end processes. The Product Owner will serve as the voice of the business, driving requirements, prioritization, and delivery within an Agile framework, while collaborating across underwriting, operations, marketing, and technology teams to deliver measurable business value. Key Responsibilities

Partner closely with cross-functional stakeholders in Operations, Underwriting, Marketing, and Technology to deeply understand business priorities, identify pain points, and design scalable solutions that drive operational efficiency and product growth. Serve as the Product Owner for the Specialty Insurance delivery team, establishing and embedding Agile best practices while ensuring alignment between business strategy and technical execution. Define, maintain, and prioritize the product backlog, including user stories, epics, and project scope, to deliver high-quality solutions that meet both immediate and long-term business goals. Translate strategic objectives into actionable technical requirements, providing clarity and direction to developers, analysts, and other delivery team members. Lead and influence technology and process transformation initiatives, ensuring a successful rollout through user acceptance testing (UAT), change management, and comprehensive training support. Continuously evaluate processes, systems, and workflows, identifying opportunities for automation, efficiency, and innovation to enhance employee and customer experiences. Monitor and analyze product performance metrics, incorporating feedback and data-driven insights into ongoing product enhancements. Act as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and the technical delivery team, fostering transparent communication and building trusted relationships. Ensure all solutions delivered meet compliance, regulatory, and risk management standards while maintaining a strong focus on customer needs and business objectives. Champion a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement within the delivery team and across the broader organization. Qualifications

3-+ years of insurance industry experience, with a strong preference for candidates with underwriting or specialty insurance backgrounds. Proven experience in a Product Owner or similar role within an Agile delivery environment. Strong understanding of specialty insurance operations, systems, and processes, with the ability to bridge technical and business perspectives. Demonstrated ability to manage complex initiatives from concept to delivery, balancing competing priorities and timelines. Exceptional communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and align diverse groups toward a common vision. Highly analytical, solution-oriented thinker with a track record of driving process improvements and successful product outcomes. Comfortable working in fast-paced, evolving environments with an emphasis on innovation and adaptability. Proficiency in Agile tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence) and familiarity with insurance platforms or policy administration systems is a plus.
