Supplier Development Engineer – ADB SAFEGATE
The Supplier Development Engineer is responsible for managing and improving the performance, quality, and capability of ADB SAFEGATE’s supplier base proactively. Ensure supplier quality support during the design and development of new products through active early engagement in the Product Development Process (PDP).
Responsibilities
Actively engagement during the ADB Safegate Product Development Process (PDP).
Conducting new supplier & location assessments and audits, with strong engagement during supplier selection and sourcing process.
Leading APQP and PPAP activities with suppliers for new products & engineering changes.
Working with cross functional teams to ensure challenges for future component technologies and roadmaps are met in our Supplier Development programs.
Supporting our change management process to properly risk-assess and qualify any changes proposed by our suppliers.
Actively engage suppliers in design and engineering reviews.
Leading design reviews and manufacturing feasibility assessments with internal cross functional teams and suppliers.
Reviewing and approving supplier Process Flow, PFMEA & Control Plans, ensuring key product and process characteristics are covered.
Identifying and mitigating risks in supplier manufacturing processes to ensure flawless launch.
Analysing pre-launch supplier data and proactively drive continuous improvement efforts.
Supporting the resolution of complex quality concerns from root cause analysis to identification of corrective & preventive actions.
Conducting training and workshops for suppliers on quality tools and techniques to ensure they meet ADB Safegate and Customer Requirements.
Ability to travel approximately 30% domestically or internationally to visit suppliers and conduct audits & on-site assessments.
Qualifications
Bachelors or Masters Degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
Minimum of 5-8 years of experience in supplier quality or development engineering
Strong background in working with electromechanical, mechanical & electronics components
Proficiency in quality tools such as FMEA, PPAP, APQP, SPC, MSA and 8D Methodology
Strong interpersonal and communication skills to engage with cross-functional teams and suppliers. Experience with quality control methodologies: 6 Sigma, QC tools, 8D methodology
Mechanical, electrical and/or electronic know-how
Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or Certified ISO9001/IATF16949 Lead Auditor.
Professional knowledge of products and systems used in aviation or airport industry. Professional knowledge of relevant international and national standards (FAA, ICAO, etc.).
Fluency in English is mandatory, other languages are an asset
