Overview Ballard Designs is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Associate Inventory Planner to support the execution of inventory and assortment strategies for our growing retail business. This role plays a key part in ensuring the right products are available at the right time and in the right locations by managing inventory levels, supporting allocations and replenishments, and collaborating with cross‑functional teams. This hybrid position is based in Atlanta, GA, with required office presence 3–5 times per month.

Key Responsibilities Inventory Planning & Execution:

Manage a portion of the allocations and replenishment process for Ballard Designs’ retail channel, including item coverage and purchase order submission

Oversee direct delivery orders and replenishment, from PO submission and vendor communication to tracking shipments and ensuring accurate invoicing

Resolve operational issues such as shipment discrepancies, quality control concerns, and assortment questions in partnership with stores and vendors

Provide day‑to‑day support to the Inventory Planner on special projects and evolving business needs

Reporting & Analysis:

Run, monitor, and interpret daily inventory and sales reports to guide decision‑making

Own a portion of retail sales and inventory analysis, leveraging insights to optimize inventory allocation and drive profitability

Requirements

2–5 years of experience in a retail or direct‑to‑consumer environment

Bachelor’s degree required

Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word

Strong quantitative and analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and develop actionable insights

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and drive outcomes through strong partnerships
