Overview
The PLC Programmer writes PLC programs, OIT programs, and software control descriptions for controlling various water and/or wastewater processes. This is the ideal role for an Automation Engineer with a passion for analysis, design, programming, debugging and modification of programmable logic for such applications.
Responsibilities
Develop logic diagrams, program and configure PLC programs based upon control specifications to ensure safe, reliable, and optimal equipment operation.
Perform on-site troubleshooting, testing, and commissioning while liaising with client stakeholders.
Provide technical assistance (phone or jobsite) to verify and/or modify programs.
Perform factory acceptance testing procedures with end user.
Write (publish) concise operating instructions detailing control parameters and their effects under normal and failure conditions.
Maintain complete project documentation with respect to engineering design and construction, including all construction packages, as-built requirements and return data information.
Facilitate project deliverables that meet client's quality expectations and schedule.
Perform customer training and assist sales force with product presentations.
Assist in training other employees on any aspect above.
Qualifications Minimum Experience : 3-7 Years related experience
Degree Required : Bachelor’s degree in computer science/engineering/technology/Control System or equivalent work experience.
Abilities Required : This candidate must have working knowledge of multiple PLC software including but not limited to the following: PLC Programming (Allen Bradley, Modicon, Siemens, Schneider Electric).
SPECIAL NOTES ON POSITION : Solid understanding of water and wastewater processes is key for this role.
