Job Title: Stationary Engineer (91644)
The Department of Homeless Services (DHS) is seeking to hire a
Stationary Engineer . This role requires operating, maintaining, and repairing various building systems, including boilers, furnaces, pumps, and HVAC equipment in city facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate and maintain boilers, furnaces, engines, pumps, heat exchangers, generators, motors, chillers, cooling towers, and related equipment.
Perform periodic inspections and minor repairs on equipment.
Conduct preventive maintenance to ensure optimal functioning.
Manage watch duties and supervise subordinate personnel.
Operate control room consoles and monitor system gauges.
Prepare requisitions for materials and spare parts.
Keep detailed records and logs of equipment data.
Inspect low-pressure boilers in accordance with NYC Department of Buildings procedures.
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 7:00 am – 3:00 pm
Minimum Qualifications: Valid High Pressure Boiler Operating Engineer license issued by the NYC Department of Buildings, maintained throughout employment.
Preferred Skills: All required certificates must be current for the duration of employment.
