Preconstruction Electrical Estimator
for our Commercial Division. We would love the opportunity to talk to you about this career opportunity! Responsibilities
Responsible for the preparation of preliminary, schematic, design development, and construction document estimates and studies during preconstruction Continuously monitors cost trends in order to detect over-runs and potential problem areas during preconstruction phases Participates in design decisions, evaluations, studies, value engineering, value analysis, scheduling, and constructability reviews etc Assure that the estimates, including general conditions, are accurate, complete and reflect the actual requirements of the project Evaluate and analyze subcontractor proposals in preparation of subcontracts Participation in the preparation of construction schedule for estimating purposes Responsible for discussing staffing requirements with operations in preparation of building a project team Identify new work opportunities and inform Sales and Marketing of potential projects with current clients Supports Sales/Marketing in building General Contractor and Architect/Engineer relationships Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent, combined with completion of an Electrical Apprenticeship Program and field experience, or a bachelor’s degree in construction management or similar studies Minimum 5+ years’ relevant experience related to commercial and industrial electrical projects Experience revising prices and budgets based on changing project conditions quickly Understands “hidden” costs in projects (engineering, start up, testing, commissioning etc.) Accustomed to estimating projects at varied price ranges ($10m and up) Thorough knowledge of the electrical field with familiarity in materials and construction methods Proficient with MS Suite & Outlook and experience utilizing Accubid, Conest or equivalent estimating software, and AutoCAD How We Support You
