Facility Controls Systems Engineer - JLL

What this job involves: The Facility Controls Systems Engineer is responsible for overseeing the maintenance and operations of the critical Distributed Controls System (DCS). This role requires coding experience, technical expertise, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, clients, and stakeholders. Facility Controls Systems Specialist will play a critical role in ensuring optimal facility performance, high-quality maintenance services, and client satisfaction. What your day-to-day will look like

Execute comprehensive technical reviews of control sequences, program logic, and functional performance test plans while conducting field inspections throughout project implementation to verify compliance with scope requirements and proactively identify implementation risks or design deviations. Coordinate effectively with project teams as the client representative to ensure stakeholder requirements are properly addressed and all issues are resolved within established project design and implementation schedules. Develop integrated systems utilizing Rockwell, Ignition, Yokogawa, Johnson Metasys System, and SQL Database platforms while inspecting, calibrating, repairing, and installing control, sensing, and actuating devices across Modbus, OPC, BACNET, and Yokogawa protocols. Install, operate, troubleshoot, and verify functional performance of building automation and control systems including Yokogawa BAS, OPC DMZ configurations, and comprehensive device installation, wiring, and configuration processes. Manage multiple simultaneous projects ensuring timely completion and budget adherence while providing regular progress updates and supporting mechanical engineering teams with specialized controls guidance. Proactively identify process deficiencies and develop continuous improvement solutions by recommending new processes and modifications to existing procedures that enhance operational effectiveness. Oversee installation and configuration of BMS and BAS hardware and software systems while developing comprehensive commissioning plans, troubleshooting system issues, and evaluating operating trends, alarms, and data to validate control system performance consistency with original design specifications. Required Qualifications

A bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, facilities engineering, or related technical field is required along with relevant controls experience in critical environment building automation systems and development or review of equipment operating sequences. Programming and coding abilities are essential including proficiency in Boolean Logic, ladder logic, relay logic, or Controls Theory specifically for building automation system applications. Extensive experience with major BMS platforms such as Tridium, Johnson Controls, Siemens, Yokogawa, Metricon, and Niagara is necessary for effective system implementation and management. Technical competencies must include interpreting, modifying, and developing mechanical and process drawings along with programming and troubleshooting complex building automation systems. Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems and demonstrated ability to organize and manage multiple simultaneous projects effectively while maintaining quality standards. Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills are required along with excellent written and verbal communication abilities and the capacity to work both independently and collaboratively within team environments. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications including Teams, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, OneNote, and Outlook is essential along with effective communication and interpersonal skills for successful collaboration with clients, engineers, and various project stakeholders.
