Quality Manager - Solar Construction Mortenson is seeking an experienced Quality Manager with the ability to interact with a variety of staff at all levels in an ever-changing environment, remaining flexible, resourceful, proactive, and efficient with a high level of professionalism and confidentiality. The Quality Manager will lead, manage, document, monitor, and analyze the quality system on medium to large projects and ensure corrective and preventative actions are taken.

Overview Construction/Field experience highly preferred. The candidate must be willing to move to either Texas or California. Visa sponsorship is not offered for this position.

Responsibilities

Lead Mortenson’s quality system on medium to large projects

Implement Quality Management Plan from start to final acceptance

Establish and lead quality control initiatives and corrective actions

Review project plans for quality requirements

Manage Quality Events, punch lists, and Non-Conformance Notices

Resolve issues with/without guidance from Project Manager or Superintendent

Oversee third-party design and testing agencies

Manage subcontracts and suppliers, including quality program reviews

Coach and mentor Field and Project Engineers, manage career development

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Civil, Architectural Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent field

Minimum three years’ experience in design, engineering, or construction with experience leading a project’s quality system

Strong attention to detail to organize and manage multiple project tasks

Basic understanding of construction law and generally accepted business practices

Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Primavera Unifier

Positive, professional attitude with strong customer service skills

Knowledge of quality systems (e.g., Malcolm Baldridge, ISO 9000, Lean, Kaizen, Mortenson’s Quality System, etc.)

Experience with issue management and inspection of work put in place

Completed training in basic project management and supervision

Current driver’s license

The base pay range for this role is $97,600 - $146,400.

Actual range is higher for certain office locations (Denver, CO; Chicago, IL; Seattle, WA; Portland, OR; Washington, D.C.). Base pay is positioned within the range based on knowledge, skills, and experience, with consideration given to internal equity. This position is eligible for Mortenson’s incentive plan.
