The individual in this position is responsible for providing sonography services and procedures for patients at all SIU ultrasound sites. Sign-On Bonus:

Provide assistance in planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating fetal and gynecologic evaluation policies, reporting/recording devices, procedures, and equipment. Make recommendations regarding need for change in sonogram equipment, commodities, and supplies. Participate in the selection of educational materials for distribution to patients, referring physicians, etc. Make recommendations regarding ultrasound patient care as relates to sonography and education. Assist with physician reporting of sonogram reports. Conduct standard and advanced sonographic exams on Ob/Gyn patients, both in assistance to physicians and independently. Conduct advanced ultrasounds on high-risk Maternal Fetal Medicine patients. Prepare patients for ultrasound examinations/procedures, including paperwork using the EHR to gather pertinent information. Assist attending physicians in performing obstetric and gynecologic ultrasound-guided procedures and examinations. Staff various ultrasound satellite sites based on clinic needs. Work varied hours based on clinic needs. Complete the sonographer’s portion of the imaging report with accurate information, including CPT codes for billing purposes. Make recommendations regarding ultrasound patient care as relates to sonography and education. Assist with chart preparation for the ultrasound and maternal fetal medicine clinic. Assist with cleaning ultrasound equipment and exam rooms. Assist with stocking MFM/ultrasound supplies in exam rooms. Provide education in sonographic theory and techniques to ultrasound interns, medical students, and residents. Participate in the evaluation of medical students and residents. Assist in collecting data and developing research projects relevant to the field. Assist in the implementation and collection of data for faculty-initiated research. Qualifications

High school graduate or equivalent. Current/valid registration, certification, or licensure in Medical Sonography, accreditation in sonography by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (RDMS). Two (2) years of progressively responsible work experience in the designated area of specialty. Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certification. Supplemental Information
