Overview
Senior Talent Acquisition Specialist @ GFT | Strategic Recruiting Support — Roadway Lighting / Illumination Engineer. Hybrid work model in New York, NY; Mechanicsburg, PA; Baltimore, MD; Philadelphia, PA; Fairfax, VA; East Brunswick, NJ or Washington, DC offices. Responsibilities
Part of the electrical design group responsible for the analysis and design of electrical lighting systems related to facilities, utilities, and infrastructure, including private/public facilities, local county and city agencies, and local DOT jurisdictions within PA and surrounding states. Assist in development of calculations, reports, code analysis and design documents for highway, tunnel, exterior lighting and electrical design. Calculations include feeder/branch circuit design, voltage drop, lighting/photometrics, grounding and related analyses. Develop design documents such as specifications, calculations, site drawings, sectional views, electrical details and energy code compliant analyses. Perform site surveys of existing conditions and review submittals; respond to RFI’s; coordinate work with other disciplines (architectural, civil, bridge, highway/roadway). Develop final record drawings at project completion and provide support during construction activities as needed. Participate in meetings with clients, government agencies, utility companies and project teams. Qualifications
Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills; excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to function in a fast-paced, cooperative team environment across multiple offices. Desire to work on a broad range of project types, roles, customers, and tasks. Ability to lead analysis, design and preparation of electrical engineering elements and plans for agencies. Experience in determining project schedules, cost estimates, and budget requirements; preparation of technical and cost proposals for electrical design components of transportation and facility projects. Lighting analysis experience including developing highway lighting warrants, criteria, reports and designs; understanding and application of NEC, NFPA, IBC; proficiency with AASHTO, IES Roadway Lighting Publications, and related design manuals. Proficiency with VISUAL and/or AGi32 lighting analysis software; familiarity with Bentley OpenRoads, Civil 3D, AutoCAD/REVIT; BIM familiarity is a plus. 5+ years of relevant experience; Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Architectural Engineering preferred. EIT or PE is a plus but not required; DOT and Design-Build experience is a plus; experience in low voltage power distribution, CCTV, fiber optic, communications and systems engineering for transportation/transit is a plus. Compensation & Benefits
Salary range: $100,000 - $150,000, dependent on experience and geographic location.
